Qualifications

The City of Roanoke is seeking 6 Library Assistant I positions. The ideal candidate performs clerical work in the public library system. Charges and discharges library materials registers patrons, assists in controlling status of materials in circulation.

Maintains files and records. Assists the public in the use of library facilities. Locates books, magazines and other materials as requested. Provides general library information. Examines shelves, replaces incorrectly shelved books. Inspects and repairs library materials. Prepares library materials for circulation.
